Home for a month!!

Well, I have really neglected my blog, but I've had a great reason.  We got our travel call with 2 days notice and flew to Seoul mid-May to pick up our son.  Today marks 1 month home in the USA.  It has been a whirlwind of a month with lots of tears, laughter and sleepless nights.  It seems like we're finally getting into the swing of things and figuring out a better schedule.  Most of the time, he's a pretty happy little dude, but we've had our fair share of screaming and crying.  He's lots of fun and we are so blessed to get to be his parents.  A now for a few of our favorite pics from the past month:

Anxiously Awaiting the Travel Call

We are finally at the last step of the process. Our US visa was issued today.  In the adoption world, that's known as NVC out.  The next big news will be our travel call.  It has been a really long journey, but I am so happy that the end is in sight and we will finally board that big blue plane to Seoul!!  I know that it will be the trip of a lifetime!

We have an officer!!

I just got off the phone with USCIS and was told we have an officer assigned to our case.  I'm hopeful that we will have our I600 approval by the end of the week.    I actually spoke with our officer and she seemed very nice. Hopefully she's also quick and efficient. :)

We're very excited to be getting one step closer to travel!

Hang on Baby M, we'll be there soon!

I love that his pants say "never mind" across the back. Too cute!!

What have we been up to?

We have been busily preparing the nursery, buying clothes and preparing for the lil' one.  Our paperwork has been submitted to US Immigration and we are eagerly awaiting our I600 approval.  If all goes well, I think we will travel sometime in May.

As promised, here are some nursery pics.  I still want to get a few more small items in Korea to add the finishing touches.

Let the nesting begin

We had held off shopping too much for the little one until we had a referral.  Now that it's official, let the shopping begin!

The crib arrived yesterday. My poor DH had to carry 85 lbs. box up 2 flights of stairs!  Go honey!

It's so much fun to be at this stage of the game.  Crib assembly pics to follow.

We have a son!

We are thrilled to announce that we have accepted a referral for our son.  He was born April 28, 2010 in Daegu, S Korea.  He weighed 6.4 lbs and was 18.5 inches long. He is the cutest thing ever and we are so excited to finally feel like parents.  Our agency is estimating a 4 month wait time to travel to Korea.  This means lots of paperwork needs to be processed before we can go pick him up.

Meet Baby "M."   We can't wait to bring him home.
